60% of HIMARS have been destroyed, a pro-Ukrainian source claims
The pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Legitimney [Legitimate in English – ed.] claims that according to their sources, more than 60% of the HIMARS delivered to Ukraine have been destroyed. “We were the first to provide inside information on the tactics of using the armed forces of HIMARS and also described how the Russian Federation could close this case. Our source reported that more than 60% of the HIMARS were destroyed,” the channel wrote Legitimney.

In his analysis published in Telegram, the author of the material also says that the strategy of the Ukrainian troops was initially to move the HIMARS every 12 hours. Different locations, unrelated to each other, were used. Ukraine has also avoided locating a group of systems in one place, but “each separate system in a separate place”. However, Moscow has monitored these activities without taking action. In this way, the Ukrainian armed forces were left with the impression that they had managed to fool Russian military intelligence.
At some point, the Ukrainian armed forces began grouping more than one HIMARS system at one location, and then the Russian armed forces struck them. Legitimney also says: “Now the KHIMARS are few and far between, not as much as they used to be, so there is not as much ‘noise’, and the General Staff no longer publishes pictures of them, realizing that the Russians are yet to try to destroy them all.”
“In addition, the Russians partially changed the tactics of deploying warehouses and strengthened air defense. Of course, the VSU [Armed Forces of Ukraine – ed.] sometimes manages to break through the defenses and inflict damage, but not much,” says Legitimney in its analysis.
Antonovsky bridge
The Telegram channel Legitimney makes an interesting analysis of the Antonovsky Bridge, defining the Ukrainian operation to bomb it as a failure. “All the military consider the case of the Antonovsky bridge a failure. After a month and a half of constant attacks, the bridge is standing, many missiles and forces have been expended, and the Russians have not lost the transport artery with the other side of the Dnieper,” the analysis says.
According to Legitimney, this case is only for PR and creating “noise” to distract the masses, but in strategic military terms, it is a failure.

BulgarianMilitary.com was unable to find out who administers the Legitimney channel, too. Despite Legitimney’s claims, no sources, footage, or satellite images were attached to the analysis to proof its claims.
Russia says
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation says in a press release about its military actions on July 17 that in the region of Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk, a high-precision missile destroyed one of the M142 HIMARS missile launchers delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces.
The Ministry of Defense released a drone video showing the launch of the precise strike missile, as well as the deployment of at least one HIMARS unit, but not the destruction of the missile system. I.e. from information available through open sources, it can be claimed that the Russian Armed Forces know the location of at least one M142 HIMARS unit.

“In the area of the settlement of Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk People’s Republic, a launch and transport-loading machine of a US HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system was destroyed with a high-precision ground weapon,” the report said.
According to a Russian reporter for the online publication Raketna Technika – S.V. Gurov, Russia has destroyed four more HIMARS. Gurov claims that based on the information provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense at the moment, the destroyed M142 HIMARS near Krasnoarmeysk is the fourth of four missile systems delivered to Ukraine.
“Taking into account the reliability of the previously published information, it can be assumed that during the hostilities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine [VSU] lost four HIMARS MLRS combat vehicles from their first delivery to Ukraine. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Federation took them less than a month to destroy the most important part of the delivered weapons and military equipment,” Gurov said in his comment.
Most difficult target
On July 27 a Russian anti-aircraft [AA] gunner described to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti how difficult it is to counter the HIMARS MLRS. The agency does not mention his name but refers to him as “the officer” [most likely because of his rank as an officer in the army].

According to the Russian officer, gunners operating the Russian army’s Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system in Ukraine are gradually learning how to shoot down the American M30/M31 missiles that HIMARS fires. “Besides successfully handling its tasks set by the factory, it also fired missiles, although this was not according to its characteristics [declared],” the officer said.
The Russian officer claims that he personally shot down one American HIMARS MLRS missile over the Donbas, donated to Ukraine. But he admits that this American weapon is a serious challenge for Russian gunners.
“The most difficult target we have worked on is HIMARS rockets. These shells … fly at a very high altitude. We at least detect [missiles] up to 22 thousand meters in height. The difficulty lies in the fact that the range is short, and the time to make a decision is minimal… Our combat crews valiantly cope with the task of shooting down, literally within 10 seconds… The effective dispersion area of these shells is very small, only zero. Therefore, the target is considered small-sized, high-speed,” the source said.
The Russian officer who spoke to RIA Novosti said that the Buk-M3 copes much more successfully with artillery shells of Soviet design, or Russian design, which are in service in the inventory of the Ukrainian military. As an example, he gives that over the Donbas Buk-M3 successfully intercepted and shot down [95%] Ukrainian Tochka-U missiles fired.
2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine
On 21 February 2022, the Russian government claimed that Ukrainian shelling had destroyed an FSB border facility on the Russia Ukraine border, and claimed that it had killed 5 Ukrainian soldiers who tried to cross into Russian territory. Ukraine denied being involved in both incidents and called them a false flag.
On the same day, the Russian government formally recognized the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR as independent states, according to Putin not only in their de-facto controlled areas, but the Ukrainian Oblasts as a whole, and Putin ordered Russian troops, including tanks, to enter the regions.
On 24 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine by Russian Armed Forces previously concentrated along the border. The invasion followed by targeted airstrikes of military buildings in the country, as well as tanks entering via the Belarus border.

Russia has so far not recognized the invasion of Ukraine as a “war”, although that is exactly what it is, claiming that it is a “special military operation”. According to the UN, in which Russia has its permanent representation, for military action to be defined as a “special military operation”, it must have a resolution issued by the UN. There is no such resolution, which automatically defines the military actions of the Russians as an invasion and war against the citizens of Ukraine.

Luch Design Bureau conducted successful tests by firing from the anti-tank complex installed on the famous armored personnel carrier M113, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, referring to Defense Express.
Luch Design Bureau [LDB] successfully conducted test launches of guided missiles from the anti-tank complex of its production by the M113 tracked armored personnel carrier as part of a demonstration of weapons to an unnamed foreign client.
According to a source in the LDB, the demonstration was held at a military training ground in South Asia for one of the potential buyers of Ukrainian ATGM.
According to a representative of the state company, the tests for combat shooting were conducted from the M113 platform at an angle of 15 degrees. The time of the tests and the probable client were not specified, but it was noted that all targets were successfully destroyed, and the potential client was satisfied with the accuracy of the Ukrainian missiles.
It should be added that the M113 armored personnel carrier is a very common platform, which is in service in more than fifty countries. Potential customers who may be interested in building a self-propelled ATGM based on their M113 with KB Luch complexes [among Asia and the Middle East] may include countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, and Bahrain.

These countries have a fairly large fleet of American armored personnel carriers, and almost all of them have either already purchased Ukrainian ATGMs [such as Saudi Arabia) or are potential large customers [such as Pakistan].
It is also worth recalling that for more than a year now, Luch has been participating in a major tender for the supply of anti-tank systems to the Pakistani army with its Scythian complex [export version of the Stunna-P anti-tank missile system]. At the same time, the Ukrainian complex is considered a favorite.

The Ukrainian air defense has shot down the Russian fighter of generation 4 ++ [4.5 generation] and the main fighter aircraft of the Russian aviation Su-35S Flanker-E, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, citing its own, Russian and Ukrainian sources.
The fighter jet was hit and shot down in the sky over the Izyum region in eastern Ukraine, about 120 km from Kharkiv. The pilot ejected but was captured by the Ukrainian armed forces. They managed to intercept a conversation of the Russian military, which was preparing to organize a rescue mission by helicopter to take the pilot out of Ukrainian territory but were overtaken by the Ukrainians.
Experts claim that the pilot and his Su-35S Flanker-E were on a SEAD mission – Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses. These are military tactics used by all air forces around the world whose goal is not only to suppress air defense such as destroying various missiles but also to disrupt the communication and radar capabilities of an anti-aircraft missile battery.
Experts support the claim that the Russian fighter was supposed to destroy an air defense system based on the remains found in the field. They clearly show the remains of the Russian air-to-surface missile Kh-31P, which has a passive seeker head for use as an anti-radiation missile.
The downed Su-35S Flanker-E was the first documented downed fighter of its kind in the Ukrainian war.

Ukrainian forces have claimed to have downed a Russian jet worth £38million as they continue to defend their country from Vladimir Putin’s invasion.
Images released by Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sunday showed the burning remains of an Su-35 fighter shot down near the city of Izyum, in the Kharkiv region.
It is believed to be the first Su-35 which the Ukrainian forces have shot down since Putin ordered his troops to invade on 24 February.
Video of a Russian soldier reported to be the pilot was shared on social media, showing him kneeling near the burning wreckage, although this was unverified.
Ukrainian MP Anton Gerashchenko claimed the pilot ejected from the aircraft as it was going down and was captured as he tried to flee.

The Su-35 is a twin-engine supermaneuverable fighter jet, bought into the Russian service in 2014.
The 22m meter long aircraft can reach a top speed of 2,400kmh (1,500mph), and carries a number of weapons including rockets, air-to-air missiles and air-to-surface missiles.
Russia is believed to have suffered significant losses since the conflict began, including thousands of soldiers and huge numbers of equipment.
Latest figures from local news in Ukraine have estimated over 18,000 troops have died, along with 143 planes, 644 tanks and thousands of other vehicles.
While the figures cannot be independently verified, Western officials have pointed towards evidence of significant losses on the Russia side as they come up against stiff opposition.

It was claimed over the weekend that two Russian soldiers died after eating pies laced with poison which Ukrainian citizens “treated” them with.
The troops from the third Motor Rifle Division, are said to have died instantly after locals in Izium “gifted” them the pies.
Another 28 soldiers have reportedly been rushed to hospital, and hundreds more are said to be suffering “severe illness” from poisoned food and drink given to them.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence Intelligence wrote on social media on Saturday: “Ukrainians resist the occupiers by all available means.
“According to available information, local residents of the Izium district (Kharkiv region) ‘treated’ Russians from the third Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian Federation with poisoned pies.

Putin has been accused of carrying out a genocide in Ukraine, after Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence released images on Sunday showing what was left behind in the city of Bucha following a retreat of Russian forces.
Footage showed bodies left lying in the street, some with the hands tied behind their backs and shot in the head.
Ukrainian authorities have claimed 410 civilians were killed in Bucha and Irpin, with mass graves being dug for the victims.
In Motyzhyn, around 20 miles west of the city of Bucha, the mayor and her family were reportedly discovered in a mass grave.
Ukraine’s former ambassador to Austria Olexander Scherba said Olga Sukhenko was found buried with her husband and son.
Of the 20 people found in the put, some bore the marks of torture, authorities said, including broken arms and fingers.

Journalists who have visited the area since the Russians retreat have said there is “clear evidence” of war crimes being left behind, including that of torture and rape.
Ukrainian Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russian forces of torturing and executing hundreds of people in a Facebook post after the bodies were discovered.
“I want every mother of every Russian soldier to see the bodies of the killed people in Bucha, in Irpin, in Hostomel,” Zelensky said. “What did they do? Why were they killed?”
“War crimes in Bucha and other cities during the Russian occupation will also be considered by the UN Security Council on Tuesday,” he added.
